Extract from Jobseekers Site
You may get contribution-based Jobseekers Allowance if you have paid or been credited with class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions in the relevant tax years. Self employed contributions will not generally qualify you for contribution-based Jobseekers Allowance.
Would anyone be able to tell me what the qualifying years would be for a claim made now?
I have worked for 28 years paying full contributions and the worked p/t for the last 4 years. The first 2 years - 3 full days a week, the last 2 years - between 12 and 20 hours a week.
Would I be likley to qualify if I made a claim?
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend

What you've earned outside the qualifying years is irrelevent sadly. The current year being used is 2006/7.0
