Asda are doing the special edition of War of the Worlds for a bargainous £5 in all stores nationwide until 6 January so grab it while you can. Thanks to cyclops for the heads up. If you can't get to an Asda check out CD Wow below which is still a good deal.

Hi all, not sure whether anyone else like this movie, but it's available from CD-WOW for £9.99, or £8.99 if you can find a discount link or voucher.

It's a decent price for a 2 disc version as it's £15.99 delivered at play.com

Just went into the ASDA store at Birchwood, Warrington as my son wanted this DVD and they haven't got one nor know anything about it. They told me that certain dvds are a special price but they tend to be the older dvds. They did have War of the World in at £10.99 though.

I popped to ASDA in Wrexham this evening and purchased it for £5, so they are out there somewhere.

It would have scanned at £5. Look at the printed 'Top 100 DVDs Chart' instore: "No. 3 - WotW - £5". I got one today myself: sticker says £14.84, till says a fiver.

Good spot! Managed to get one at the second Asda I tried - thanks.

Mind you if I hadn't looked on their top 100 chart, I'd have had no idea the price had been reduced to £5 at either store I tried.

Just picked one up from Stevenage (2 disc edition), stickered £14.84, but went through at £5 as per the top 100 board (position 4), was half expecting to have to argue the price, they had a few left, they weren't in the chart DVD display but on a random carousel elsewhere.

Asda, Halifax. Two copies, fiver each, no problem. If there aren't any on the shelf... *ask*. Halifax had loads round the back, but were only putting about 10 copies out at once.

Notably, though, one copy I got is labelled £14.87 and one £12.97. Weird.
