I have a 9 year old, so i will give you a few ideas of things i have bought for him
At the moment all the kiddies seem to be into match attack cards ,you can get these from whsmiths and most papershops. 40p for a pack of 6.
I bought stocking fillers from Tickseed website that included plastic balloon paste, worry dolls, 3x knitted balls, pocket kite, duck whistle and wooden whistle.
Lego is also a favorite. Amazon has a couple of cheap £4 ish cars and such
Also deodrant and shower gel sets. ( My son has older brothers, so likes things they like)
Dr Who is also a good idea as is Ben 10.

About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
the guinness book of world records is 9.99 in whsmiths just now - my brother used to love those books when he was younger
I work in a school and can vouch that boys love Guinness Records - they have some really gross pictures and information, they don't have to be an avid reader to enjoy it and because it's only just out there is less chance that he would already have it. Last year's would be completely different.0 -
My 10 year old wouldn't like any of the above. He does like anything game related, he likes Adam Blade books - the Beast quest series, dr who cards, cds (so zavvi gift voucher or similar would be good) or play.com gift voucher or amazon or game... He likes joke books, cartoons like Bart Simpsons, art/craft stuff. Have got him magnetix in the past, any kind of sweet treat, dvds eg spiderman 3 (get from play.com using special nestle box voucher code for £1) or Mr Magoriums Magic Emporium (same) or Bridge to Terribithia (same).... Hope that helpsAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0
