Can you place the pieces under a couple of sheets of kitchen roll and iron over with a warm iron to melt the wax? It works with candles so I assume this should also work with crayon?

I don't know any moneysaving ways, but we used a product specifically for removing candlewax... perhaps something like that would do?0

I have no idea if this would work with a wax crayon, but a normal pencil rubber removes wax from the black trim on cars, maybe worth giving it a go.0
