Found this while surfing the net. I stupidly didn't realise that household products can still be tested on animals.
Apparently this free books lists all the UK companies approved under the Humane Cosmetics Standard and the Humane Household Products Standard.

i got this a few months ago. you're not the only one who didn't realize, i think it's one of those things that people don't think about. i never used to.
Marks & Spencers are probably the most accessible store to buy cleaning products from, and the 'Astonish' brand, that i was raving about on here a few months ago, are cheap and found at discount stores, such as home bargains and the £ shops.
the more people who refuse to buy products tested on animals, the more likely companies are to stop doing it.
power to the purse. :A
(i'm quite pleased that i didn't turn this into a rant about man's inhumane treatment of other species)0 -
The co-op's own brand cleaning products are BUAV approved too, and pretty good value. They also clearly label their vegan products as containing no animal ingredients, which is really handy.
I like Astonish too- I can usually get their stuff in Spar.Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice.
Illegitimi Non Carborundum!!!:cool:0
