Makro

sorry if in wrong area or already been asked (for some reason cant search forums from works computer), are there any real bargains/savings to be had at makro.
things i am thinking of are washing powder, binliners, tin foil, drinks for pack up, shampoo, toilet rolls, toothpaste.
i am trying to budget and thinking it will be cheaper to buy in bulk where possible.

thanks.

I suppose if there a few of you who could club together and split the cost then you could get some bargains. It's easy to forget when you're walking round Makro that you've also got to add VAT onto some of the stuff too, so keep that in mind.

I agree with previous poster, Home Bargains offers great value and you don't have to buy in bulk and they've got the branded items.

I got a Carmex lipbalm there for 99p (about 2.50 in Boots)
Dog rawhide bones 79p (about 1.50 in Pets at Home)

I find Makro to be more expensive than supermarkets if you shop around, occasionaly their offers are good especially on washing powders but even then their offers recently were more expensive than the Asa deal on washing powder. Toilet rolls unless they are on one of their rare exceptional offers and tooth paste definatly cheaper in supermarket offers, Tin foil and all their catering stuff in general are SILLY PRICES.
recently their 24 pack of pepsi in the makro mail ( special offers leaflet) worked out to be nearly 2p a tin more than buying them individual from Farm foods.

I find only occasional bargains to be found but when they have a sale they are often quite good with bargains to be found, the boxing day sale is normally good.
current offers 33% off swing bin 100 and pedal; bin 200 liners were 5.99 now 4.01 ( sure thsese are cheaper in asda )
sorry dont have time to go through all the mail leaflet now you might beable to see them online at their webiste
