in Cutting tax
Dear Group,

I am very soon to start a new job in Kazakhstan for a Kazakhstan company. I live in the UK but will be doing about 30 days in country and 26 days at home due to travel. Am I liable to pay UK Tax if I am paying Kazakhsan tax?

    You pay Uk tax on your worldwide income with relief given for Kazak tax paid.

    Hi Fengirl,

    Isn't that only applicable when I am working for a UK company. I've worked world wide for the last 11 years and have always paid UK tax and NI but this is the first time I have worked for a foreign company outside europe.

    It does not amtter who you are working for - if you are resident in the UK, then you are liable to Uk tax on your worldwide income.

    The OP could still be non-dom & claim the remittance basis but we don't know for certain the residence status so I believe Fengirl is likely correct.
