  • They did bring new rates out but they were at lower LTV's. The 75% and above rates look the same.
  • We phoned up the hlifax yesterday as we have a fixed rate mortgage with them that ends in dec and wanna know about the rates. They said they are lowering their mortages the whole 1.5% and will do it between 20-25th nov, we just got to keep checking the website hth

What sort of rates were you asking about? I'd be surprised if they reduced all their fixed rates by 1.5%.

Just phoned them and the person I spoke to is unaware of any changes being made to the fixed rates, although he says they should be expected.

My fixed rate comes to an end at the end of December, and I've already booked a deal. I was told that if a better one comes along in the next month I would be refunded my fee and could choose a new deal. This isn't something they'd normally do, but I was told they felt it was only fair given what has happened recently. So hopefully that will be the case if something better comes along, as I'd hate to feel I'd made a huge mistake by sorting out a deal early!
