Creditors are never happy when someone enters into a DMP, that being said, the current financial climate we're under will be no surprise to any of them when a customer enters into one.

For a few months it wil be a bumpy ride, as they have to go through a process as your debt is passed between different departments, this is internal polictics, just ride the storm, there will be plenty of advice / support on here as and when you require it.

When I say bumpy ride, this could be letters / phone calls from them.

By the sound of your post you are already going with CCCS:A

  • Hi and welcome to the board

If you post your SOA we can all try and make helpful suggestions ;)

As 10past6 say, no creditor is going to be chuffed about your going into a DMP, but I'm sure the number of people doing it is on the up.

The only creditor I have experience of is MBNA. My husband contacted them to say he is going on a DMP and they wrote back immediately to say all charges and interest would be stopped and they would accept the payment offered. Obviously their response depends on the debt and the payment offered though.

Don't worry, you are in the right place for advice and help. :grouphug:

  • Hi blondie, as a fellow newbie I thought I'd say hi!

I know how you feel, I've been there. Companies would rather you pay back what you can afford rather than going bankrupt and getting nothing from you. The minute you pick up the phone you'll feel better but before you do I'm sure there are many people on here who can help suggest who and how to go about it all.

Got my fingers crossed for you. It does get easier once you start the ball rolling.

  • thanks, im so scared that when i start the ball rolling it rolls out of controll, what if the creditors for credit cards refuse to accept the offers, mbna are awful, not sure about bank of scotland tsb etc, are they slightly understanding. do they take on board that i do want to pay my debts of etc my heads in a whirl so much to ask,

    i really must go now,

    thanks
  • From personal expierence

Calling CCCS was the best thing i did, they are human and more importantly they are on your side, the relief is breathtaking
As 10past said it may be a bumpy ride for a few months

And your right doing your SOA is scarey, just remember it is not an exam no really right or wrong answers, its how you are spending your money

I think you could do with one of these:grouphug: a dodgy group hug
it might make you go  or :rotfl:or:confused:, never worked it out myself:o:rolleyes:

    hope you get some sleep:A
