State Pension Forecast

Options
I'm filling in the form to get a State pension forecast.
I'm currently in a contracted out occupational pension scheme (~30 years).

Which box do I tick re National Insurance contributions? Am I paying full NI contributions? My NI code is D

Thinking further about this why do they need to know? Surely from my NI number they can trace what contributions I have made during my working life?

  • Tick that you are paying full NI contributions. [The alternatives would be married woman's small stamp or self employed stamp.

They can see what contributions you have paid in the past but ask the question in order to predict your pension, for instance if you had just stopped working the prediction would be based on that fact. If you've already qualified for your full basic state pension then it matters not.
  • quicker way to do this is call the state pension forcast line... 0845 3000 168 and just request one over the phone.
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
