Bulk purchase of easybake yeast sachets

Does anyone know where I can buy breadmaker yeast in bulk in sachets? I know that you can get Allinson's easybake in tubs, and Doves in little orange packets. However, as I live on my own I don't make that much bread and when I tried Doves it was brilliant to start with - but soon I found it had lost its power. So is there anywhere I can buy sachets of easybake yeast in reasonable bulk - and with a discount?

Can you keep this in the freezer? I seem to remember that advice in the booklet that came with my bread maker.
  • I keep my 99p packets of dove in a lock and lock box in the fridge and it keeps for months
  • Can't answer your question, but you can definitely keep it in the freezer or fridge and use it straight from the freezer. I use the Dove's stuff in the orange packets.

We keep our Allinsons vacuum pack in the fridge......never had any problems.. and we don't bake that often.
  • I know this has been posted else where but did you know that if you ask at the bakery section in Tesco they will give you yeast FOC.

I didn't believe it at 1st but tried at my local tesco store and they did!:j

Believe that the same applies at Asda but as I on't go there cannot say for certain.

Thanks. Maybe I'll try the Doves again and keep it in the fridge or freezer, I was a bit worried about not working properly due to getting cold (but then I usually bake overnight, which gives it plenty of time to warm up).
