Hi all, seasons greetings, I wonder if anyone knows what I have to do to cancel my sky sub I have had for 2 yrs now. I don't want to take sky with me to new home, so what do U do with the equipment?

Cancel it now. You can still view sky as long as you have the dish. I cancelled mine three months ago. However you leave the dish and if you wanted to subscribe in your new home, sky would erect a dish for free.
  • Thanks for that, but what physically do I do ? Can I just ring them up or is it something else?

Just phone them on their 0800 number which you'll get from https://www.saynoto0870.com
That's what I did and I still have sky! I found it difficult to believe but it does work!
Any other question you can send me a pm. ;)

the equipment is yours, so u can sell it on ebay, you can put it in bucket, or you can keep it..... the dish u just leave on roof, the box u can sell for a few quid depending on the make ive seen them go for £50 no probs on ebay :) goes for more with remote and all leads btw
Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.

What's the point on a forum sugesting using PMs. The whole idea is that the answers help other people as well as the original poster.
  • Do I not have to put something in writing to them?

No. I just phoned. They didn't take any more money from me.

Yeah, phone them and cancel. Put the box on e-bay or keep it incase you change your mind and want to use the card and box for freesat from sky in the future.

Have you got freeview coverage and a good aerial at the new house??

    Ben

    & Choo Choo for trains!!
  • Nothing yet, needs new aerial etc, but won't be moving into new home until May time, in temp accomodation trying to save money!

Think we'll go for sky + as a new customer in june/july
