Does your creditor send you a statement of account? If not ask them for one!!!
A friend of mine was paying £50 a month for a debt from years ago. Out of curiosity he asked for a statement. They refused, saying they never send out statements! So he persisted, he actually in the end told them he had come into some money and needed a copy of the statement to see if he could pay it in full.
The statement arrived. For every £50 he paid they added £131 in interest.
