In desperate need of a hug!!

Not having a good day today, feeling particularly down about my financial situation. Owe approx £35k over 16 creditors and about to start DMP with CCCS.
In addition, approx 1 month in arrears with secured loan but have dd in place for monthly payment. Have spoken to them fairly recently and explained that i dont want to up the payment to them on a formal basis as sometimes may not be able to make it. CCCS payment is going to leave things tight so said i would try to pay of bits and pieces as and when i could. One guy i spoke to said this would be ok as they dont take any further action until 2 months arrears but a woman phoned and was really unpleasant. Now received a letter saying they are going to send a debt counsellor around, I dont want this. Can they force me?
Just feeling generally down, seems like such a long haul and Christmas is round the corner, car needs taxing at end of the month and then MOT the next week. Our cat is dying, hasnt eaten in 4 weeks, so had to take to vets who said she cant be saved who has charged us £80 for the consultation and 2 injections (last ditched attempt to help her). I know i am whinging and i apologise for that and i do know other people are worse off but so fed up and grumpy - had to let off steam. Please feel free to ignore this post, I will prob feel a lot better tomorrow:o

  • Hi there,

I am 25 years old and have been with the CCCS for 5 years, Best thing to do is to keep on the budget they set, contact the CCCS if you get any letters or calls from creditors etc. You should have any creditors that you have on your CCCS and should not be making payments direct to them but via the DMP.

If a doorstep collector comes around, they have as much legal right to enter yoru home as the paperboy - none. Ask them to leave and if they don't they are trespassing. These people are not bailiffs so don't let them intimidate you.
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011
  • I would also suggest that if anyone comes round is to say nothing and just say please contact the CCCS as you are now on a DMP with them. As long as the credit which was with them is on the CCCS Plan.

    Hi

Please speak to CCCS and let them know you are in difficulties with a secured loan. They can delay the DMP for a month so you can get up to date on that.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Sending you some big (((hugs))). So sorry about your cat.

I don't know much about DMPS but could your secured loan not be added to your DMP with CCCS?

Hope things get sorted for you soon.

I would have thought not, the secured loan is a priority debt I think
