Hi
because i'm looking likelyto lose my job in the next few weeks i've starte. d to reign everything in, starting with the council tax! I was amazed when I rang to be told "we need authorisation and an SOA to do it now as the council are tightening proceedures!".
I explained I was be proactive and she went to a supervisor and they confirmed I'd still get overdue letters but as long as I pay what it says on the "notebook" I'll we be fine.
Bless her she was as helpful as she could be, but least it's reduced from £115 to £58 a month, which will help. Just thought it was interesting and not a helpful council policy.
Thankfully our mortgage lender is passing on the cut so saving £100 there next month (sorry as you can see thinking it through in my head!).
Just wondered if anyone else had encountered this with their council!
