Debt collection letters

I have an agency called Transcom who said they have bought a debt i had for an old mobile from 3 years ago which is fine as i remeber having the phone, the debt is for £240.21 and i told them i don't work and i could afford £5 a month as im paying off other debts from when i was young and stupid so i set up a standing order for the £5 a month and they've had the first payment but they're saying because i won't pay it off over the next 2 months they might take me to court for it, i started to get letters from their solicitors and i spoke to them and they said it was fine that i was paying the £5 and its gone back to transcom who are sending me 2-3 letters a week now saying i have 72 hours to pay in full or they'll take me to court, i've just rang them and they said they don't know if they'll take me to court and until then i'll keep getting these letters, is there anything i can do to stop them sending them all the time?

No , just bin them . You have set up a payment arrangement . It would cost them hundreds to take you to court . And if a court see a payment arrangement set up and stuck to on your part, would give the DCA a dressing down .0
