Use only second class stamps this Christmas

This isn't me - this is from Postwatch the postal services watchdog.

It boils down to this over the Christmas period the post office is so busy the difference between the delivery time of first and second class stamps is negligible.

First class costs 28p
Second class costs 21p

And may i just applaud Postwatch - too many of the consumer groups end up being apologists for the industry they represent - explaining the problems and trying to be reasonable - whilst at the same time flogging real consumers down the river. Real proof above that Postwatch isn't such a group. Thumbs up from me.

And I bet the snail would actually make sure your post went through the right letterbox too! [Ribbits in annoyance at our new, extra-stupid postie, who can't seem to read the house numbers on our street >:(]

I more or less always go second class, as I don't think it makes a lot of difference if you put a first class stamp on your mail.

  • Superdrug has a 5% off 1st class stamps offer that runs until Christmas Eve and is on both Christmas and ordinary.
It's supposedly limited to 5 books a person but my local manager would rather take the trade.
How often do you save money on Stamps and they never go out of date.
I'll be getting a years supply as they've run this offer the past couple of years!

Just wondered if you are able to buy stamps on-line though any site affiliated to Greasyplam? That would get some cash back, wouldn't it?

It would, but I suspect margaretclare bought hers direct from the Royal Mail website. I know they arrive by special delivery!
