Payplan review

Hi

3 years into my DMp with payplan and I have a review coming up - does anyone know what their view is of high gas and electric bills? We are a family of 5 and at the moment are paying £68 in electric - paid dd for 18 months in 2006 for £30 but no meter reading and it wasn't enough so paying arrears and gas of £70 - just been put up to this i told them it was too high but they said it has to be reviewed in 3 months. I read on justabank they will only accept £50 per utility - has anyone put similar amounts to mine on the IE.

Also what are the limits for food for a family of 5 as the example only quotes a couple - whilst we don't spend the upper limits i don;t want to set a budget so tight there is no room for food increases etc. we thought by now hubbie would be working (bad back had op and is bit better but now cannot find work) so we are living on my salary alone still with 3 kids - i find the slack in the food bills helps with school trips and the like and the excess uniform bill (£20 per month per person barely covers the clarks and unifrom bill especially as eldest starts seniors in Sept and all uniform has to brought from school)

Thanks in advance for any info

  • payplan shud be fine with the high bills they are with ours ....gas 85 and electric 79, don't worry about your review they really are great we are afamily of 4 and are allowed 480 a month food shop so you shud get more and that is government set so it cannot be reduced

My Gas & Electric with Payplan is £122 so I think the £50 per utility is incorrect !!
  • yup its got to be i agree dont panic about it hun it will be fine
  • Thanks for that. I now feel a bit better

It has taken us 3 years to get to a point wher we can comfortabley manage on the budget (we struggled in the begining) we don;t have anything flash but can send kids on trips, ballet etc by shopping savvy etc using every money saving tip possible and didn't want to have to go back to how it was in the begining.
  • yep thats how we do it hun i can shop savy til drop and since i confessed all to my mum she does quite a bit o baking now and seems to end up at my house every weekend... the baking not my mother that would freak me out sorry mum but it would
