A really quiet washing machine

Options
While we can't afford a Dyson CR01 at £800+ we are looking for a really quiet washing machine to replace our aging noisy Bosch.

Can anyone suggest anything suitable...?

We're not interested in any of the cheaper brands - kinda German made only.

Thanks for reading.

Most libraries stock these, there may be a more recent report but we used the Jan 2005 one. They looked at noise for each machine and give it a rating. We ended up with a Bosch Exxcel 1400 express. I have to say the noise difference between this and the one machine is incredible. I have to keep looking to see if it is still on! Don't know why we put up with the old one for so long.

    Good luck.

Any chance you could let me know the exact model number of yours? There's quite a few Exxcels listed here:

    Thanks.

I think it is the WFX2868GB. I was going to go for a cheaper model but this one had a faster spin cycle and a larger capacity - essential with two messy boys both in reuseable nappies.

lg washing machines have 'direct drive' (ie no belt and a lot quieter) my nan just bought one from currys , it was around £200 and its as quiet as anything, and has led display, timer, everything variable, its got £100 off (or it did last week not sure whether its ended now)

Got a large capacity Zanussi with a 1600 spin speed .. didn't know it was spinning even when i was stood right next to it.. the 7 kg load is a great help too. Got it for circa £480 by shopping around online.

Could try Miele - might get a good deal in the sales, particulary John Lewis
