Tax rebate for working abroad?

Hi - I'm wondering if anyone can help me with the following question,
My Employer sent me to work at one of our overseas offices last year from 1st April 2007 until 25th September 2007. During this time I was paid my UK salary and tax deducted as normal through PAYE, the same as if I would have still been working in the UK.
Would I qualify for a tax rebate for the period that I was outside the UK?
Thanks for your help.

Depends.

From your description it sounds like you were:
" Working partly in and partly outside the UK for a UK employer
If you're resident and ordinarily resident, you'll pay tax on all your earnings.
If you're resident but not ordinarily resident:- for work you do in the UK, you'll pay tax on all your earnings
- for work you do overseas, you'll only pay tax on any earnings you bring into the UK"
- and you sound like a resident because you were "in the UK for an average of 91 days or more in a tax year"

Thanks Andy - I guess that makes sense. I was in the UK for 6 months of the tax year. I appreciate your help and getting back to me.0
