  • Hi - Well done for facing up to your debts.... I'm slightly confused as your sig seems to reflect higher debt than your SOA - any explanation?

Yeah because i'm not counting my RBS student overdraft cause i have that for another 2 year before i need to pay it off. So the catalogues, store cards n Bank of Scotland overraft are the priorities just now
  • I looked at your spend for yesterday on another thread. From memory it was £2 coffee, £1 cake , £2.40 fags. Do that every day and its going to cost you £132 a month. You need to do a spending diary.

No not everyday, that was it was a monday and thats the only day i'm in college all day so i need to buy lunch

I second this - if you really do have a £200+ surplus at the end of the month then clearing those small amounts shouldn't take you too long! Just start overpaying the one with the highest APR by as much as you can, then whent hat is cleared, move on to overpaying on the next highest APR debt. :)

I also agree you should start a spending diary so you can work out exactly where all the pennies are going. :)

See thats the thing i never seem to have any money, even though i have nearly £700 coming in every month! I got paid on Friday there £340 student loan and £350 wages! And i have £100 left in the bank to last me till the 5th of December!

precisely why you need to start a spending diary!, it seems you are spending little bits here and there that you aren't counting, thats where your money is going
Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £0

I'm assuming you live with parents as you have no food bills, utility bills etc.

To be honest I'm not sure theres any advice I can give you as you don't actually seem to need any....apart from...use that surplus each month to pay your cards off! In five months you would be debt free!

    xx
Yeah i live with my mum

Well it appears you have a surplus which is good news!

You might want to do a spending diary to find out where its really all going...

You could get rid of the store card for New Look this month and thats one down - also do you need to spend £40 a month on clothes? And the £80 phone bill - yikes - get people to ring you instead!

Others will be around with better advice soon...
The new look card was at £98, i just paid £40 to it yesteray an £3 to it today, i can't really afford to pay anthing else to it this month.
My phone bill has been higher than that before! lol it was £120 a few months ago!

Littlepinkstars - I remember how much debt I got in as a student and I'm still trying to pay it back now so if you can use the time you are living at home to really be frugal then thats great! Just keep working at it and you'll get there :)

    Also try www.spendingdiary.com

The best tool ever for stopping that £2.50 on coffee etc during the week!
