Just a quick question

Sorry previous thread was a bit garbled.

1 How soon after the CSA have made an assessment is it put into place, i.e. how soon will payments start from the letters being sent out from the CSA's office?

2 Can the ex state when he'll be paying from.

Thanks for advice in advance

  • as soon as the assessment is put in place they should contact him to arrange payment. Initially he will be given the opportunity to pay voluntarily - he could choose to pay weekly starting from tomorrow or he could choose to pay on the 10th of everymonth by DD - which would take a few weeks to set up.

you could then receive payment a few days after he makes his payment.
if he refuses to make the payments he will be sent warning letters allowing a further 7 days from whatever date he had agreed. if a payment still has not been made a deduction from earnings order can be put in place - although this is collected in arrears from his employer and is then, normally, posted to the csa when they complete their monthly payroll.

if, for example, he wanted to start paying in 2 weeks time - the 2 weeks missed would be added on as arrears.
  • thanks for that - is there anyway that he can avoid paying what the CSA deem to be the correct amount only because I think he'll be paying a lot more than he has offered to pay.
  • nope the only way he can get out of it is by changing his circumstances i.e leaving his job
Comp Wins 2011 : Cant wait to start listing everything:j:j:j
