1st Credit default

I looked on my credit file today to show that I have received a default notice from '1st Credit', allegedly for an unsecured loan of £886 which I have no recollection of. Coincidentally, I believe I owed Citi the same amount of money and if I'm not mistaken this is the debt collector who they employed to take care of my case.
I have received a default notice previously from Citi, and now from 1st Credit. Surely there has to be something untowards in defaulting me twice on one account and certainly by claiming it as an unsecured loan?
Any advice on how to deal with this?
