Hi all,
I applied for bankruptcy through LILA a few weeks ago and received a Form 17 (Statutory Declaration) through the post today. I have signed and sent this back.
Can anyone who has been through this process before tell me what happens next and how long it will take? i'm feeling more positive about my situation even now but will be a whole lot more relieved when I know its all finalised!
Any other info on the LILA situation and what happens in the first few months afterwards would be grateful!

Can't help with Scottish rules - but have you tried the National Debtline? Their website has a comprehensive guide to both Scotland and the rest of the UK, so there may be some info there.0

Hi
I went through LILA at the beginning of October, after I sent the declarations off I had to sign it was another week until I got my confirmation through.
All it said was that I had been awarded my bankruptcy and they would contact me in due course, then further on in the letter it said they would contact me in 6 months.
Not heard a thing since!
Good luckMr Chops :hello:

I`ve been wondering about the time scale of a L.I.L.A. application too, as I`m planning to apply for BR this way. I`m thinking it will take 5/6 wks from applying to being declared BR. Is my estimation about right?
Thanks,

Hi all,
just to update, i received a letter from the aib today confirming that my BR was awarded on Monday. It states that I will automatically be discharged in a years time and that they will be in touch in 6 months time to review my situation.
Huge relief, mix of emotions, etc. Its a fresh start now, although still feel ashamed to have let it get to this point. If anybody wants advice going through the LILA process let me know.0 -

hi glad to hear lila appears to be working for you. i'm considering this route myself but finding it difficult to obtain account nos, addresses of creditors some of whom i haven't heard from in over 3 years. i've not got paperwork now. do i defo need to contact them all to get amount i owe and account nos/addresses? anything else aib is very particular about?
did you complete form yourself or cab?
thanks0
