Runs Linux, but you can install XP or Vista on it.
Bargain... most websites are selling this for 330 to 350... some even upwards of 400!

Reading the reviews of the HP you may well be better spending your money on the Acer or Asus, shame. By all accounts it looks the business but is slow in operation with the Via C7 processor.0

Clearly, the VIA processor was not the right choice... but at 200 quid this is still a total bargain. This is not really a consumer product, its business/commerical grade. The build quality is solid (metals, not cheap plastic like Acer/Asus), the keyboard is solid and nearly full size and I doubt those running XP for business applications (like Office) will notice that the C7 is slower than an Intel Atom.... it also has the most incredible screen resolution of 1280x768 in just under 9" !! You wont see that anywhere else!0

I'm looking for one for the wife, is this any good. All I need it to do is connect wireless to the internet at home, maybe run picassa for photos and maybe a bit of word and excel, but not much, its more just for browsing

The smaller the better I guess for portability.0 -
if you look at the round up of these type of laptops on CNET you will see that this comes almost right at the bottom of the pile. its supposed to be painfully slow with a screen that cant be seen if used outdoors - the acer of aeus are much better machines for the same price.
the acer one is only £208 delivered at play(much faster machine with an almost identical screen). i know where i would spend my money on0 -

Thanks, I looked at the review and thought the same thing once I saw it. Will wait a bit longer to take the plunge0
