  • So, would it be ok if I listed the landlord as such and not as a creditor, explained the situation to the OR and continue paying the arrears as agreed? I can borrow something towards them but can't clear them before Friday!

I am seriously not sure, as they are a creditor, but they are also your landlord, and I hope the OR would not wish to see you homeless.

You said you had an order of some sort what is that? or a notice what does that actually say on it?

  • We have had several posters in this situation, AnnesWitterings being the latest and as pointed out the OR is usually accomodating with this sort of thing where housing is concerned.

Give your HA a ring in the morning and work out a payment plan. As long as it is resonable then just put it on your SOA totaling the rent and the arrears together. Then just make a note of it in section 13 (I think) for the OR. Annes repayments were something like £5 a week if I remember rightly but she was on JSA.

Yes TF that's what I did.
As long as the OR is aware there should not be a problem, it's when you try to cover things up that the trouble starts.

  • Is the tenancy just in your name or is it in a joint name?
As when I went BR the tennancy was in joint names so the OR accepted the small extra payment each month for the arrears we were making to the landlord. We are in private rented accomodation.
