  • Who are 'them'?

As someone who has savings in three currencies I'm three times as scared!

We have two - pounds and shekels. The shekel has appreciated massively against the pound since we were last in Israel (April) and OH is getting a lot more for his money there at the moment.

It's catching. OH's Dad used to !!!!! about dealing with his parents' affairs, complaining that their having account in pounds, deuschtmarks (later Euros) and shekels was just them being difficult. They lived in Israel, OH's grandad had an NHS pension in pounds, and OH's granny got regular payments from Germany because she'd been slave labour.

When OH's Dad died, he had accounts in dollars, pounds, shekels, and euros.

OH !!!!!ed about dealing with it.

Later he received a cheque in euros, and said, "maybe we should open a euro account....."

    That's how it gets started!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Blimey you have no faith in your country. How and when did you become such a cynic? If you haven't been enjoying the good times over the last 15 years, you are really going to have a hard time in the next ten.

I have no faith in Brown, thats for sure, I have had good times, the good times however have been exposed as 'The emperors new clothes'. As far as the next 10 years go, they should be fine for me, I have a couple of professions that I can fall back on, have a lot of savings, a couple of good investments that are on track and doing fine, and most importantly zero debt.

I'm not cynical, although I am a realist. The next 10 years are likely to be better for me than the last 10 years.
