The £10 a day money includes things like overtime and promo work that I havent yet been paid (I count it on the days I actually work if that makes sense). Now I can't even afford a stamp to post the invoice off for my promo work!!!!!

Halifax have done this to me twice before on my credit card limit.

The limit is only £750 and i have never once missed a payment in the year i have had it, always paid slightly over. On this particular occasion it was sitting at about 712.00 so in my eyes i had 38£ in credit, i wasnt planning on using it as its downards im aiming for. I went to check my online banking to be told there was a problem it was all blocked, so i called them and they said " oh yes we dropped it down to £700 so you are over your limit" which then resulted them in giving me charges as well

I argued that i hadnt received anything in writing to say this had happened plus they were putting me over my limit by giving me charges i shouldnt have obtained. They did actually put it back up to £750 for me and i stay nicely under it now

It's pretty dodgy but it seems to be becoming more common. I guess they have to find new sneaky ways to make money out of us now that we're reclaimed our bank charges, changed to 0% cards and are clearing our overdrafts! I do think you have a point to argue if they didn't give you enough notice.

Oooooh, I hate Halifax. I don't really have any advise except to be able to add my hatred to yours. :) Maybe you claim the charges back? I hope you shout loud! :)

Well Halifax Credit Card finally paid my refund in and brought me back into the black - not before I called them in tears though! Annoys me in a way - why could they not have just done that in the first place???
