What happens when a bankrupsy ends?

Hi,

after three years, my partners bankruptcy is due to 'expire' in December.

What happens when it finishes?

does she get a letter confirming it or does it just lapse? do the payments she makes automatically finish or does she need to cancel the standing order? does she need to speak to anybody or do anything?

any advice gratefully received.

Has she checked the IS website, I think she'll find, unless she had a BRU, that she was discharged 2 years ago, and it's just the IPA she's still paying.

WHat is BRU?

as far as we were aware she was told the bankruptsy would last three years?

(we're in scotland - don't know if the law is any different here)

Oh not sure on what the law is in Scotland go to the insolvency site for Scotland and check it out would be my advice.

Did she have to pay a monthly sum? as that last 36 months down here in England.
