Hi all
There is an abundance of empty sweetie tins at my place of work, and I cannot bear to see them go into the bins, so I am taking them home. Other than storage and transporting cakes etc, can anyone suggest any uses for them?
Thanks

Use these and some old knitting needles to make a drum set for kids - perfect for Boxing Day hangovers. :snow_grin
Actually, filling them with sand/rice/pebbles etc you can use them for music play.Apparently, if you lose one sense, others senses are enhanced. That's why those who have no sense of humour have an enlarged sense of self-importance.0 -
This one won't apply to everyone, but my Mum has a big dog and now he's getting old his joints all over his body aren't so flexible. So Mum has stacked 2 empty quality street tins on top of each other and puts his dinner bowl on top of it and it's not so far for him to bend his neck down to eat from it!Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0

I keep seed packets in them - nice and dry and the mice can't get in!Love living in a village in the country side0

I can only think of storage really
You could decorate one and fill it with goodies as a present for next Christmas??
Otherwise drums all the way!!!:snow_grinComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
I use a smaller one as a button box and a larger one for all my sewing stuff. Another large one has all my shoe cleaning stuff in.Noli nothis permittere te terere

I couldn't bear to part with a lidded tin, as there are so many uses for them. After all, most of us have plenty of "stuff" to store, and if it keeps the clutter away from the rest of the house that's got to be good.
You could cover them with sticky-backed plastic to cover the original contents illustrations, and make a feature of them, stacked in a corner of a bedroom maybe, with the biggies at the bottom and the smallest at the top. Even if some of them are empty, they are there if you should want one in the future.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Fill up to about 2" with concrete..makes round garden slabs....line with polythene could use it again and again.0

We have a vintage QS tin for choccie biscuits, I used to have one with buttons in but got rid of it at a car boot a few years ago.0

When you take your Christmas tree decorations down, wrap each toy in bubble wrap and place inside the empty QS tin. Your delicate baubles and Christmas toys will survive for years to come.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the 'I wanna' and 'In my home' and Health & Beauty'' boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
