Graduate account Settlement

Hi, I have recently after a while being unemployed got back into full time work and fell behind on payments into my graduate account and the bank have passed my details onto a debt company that are demanding payment of the full amount outstanding £1,900.00 or they say they will take me to court - since I am now employed I can afford to make payments each week or month to try and clear my debt but they say it is too late and they want the whole lot spread over just 2 months of payments or I have to goto court where I'll be fined court costs etc.
Could anyone please advise me on how to handle this I have never been threatened like this before and I can't just come up with £1,900.00 just like that over 2 months - I know its my own fault for not making regular payments to my account to cover my overdraft but I hhave been skint upto recently and didn't have any choice.

Hi
Try not to panic who is the account with? Which bank or is with a Debt Collection agency? Make an offer, if you post your SOA others here are fab at helping. Is this your only debt? I court would not expect you normally to repay in two hits and they probably know this. Have you made them an offer?

Hi
What I was saying was make an offer yourself e.g. figure out what you can realistically afford. For example - if you work out your income/outgoing and see what is left, then make them a reasonable offer providing them with a copy of this they may accept it, in meantime if you can afford to make a token payment while negoiating this will go in your favour.
Is this debt with Debt collector or still with bank>?
