Red Debt Collection Services

Hi Everyone New To This So Bear With Me.

Recieved A Letter Today From Red Debt Collection Services Stating That They Were Considering Serving Me With A Statutory Demand.

The Debt Is For 1598 Pounds And On The Behalf Of Hsbc

I Have Not Been In Contact With Any Agency Over This Debt And I Also Believe It Ot Be Over 6 Years Old, Also When I Entered The Agreement With Hsbc By Some Twist Of Fate I Was Not Asked To Produce Any Photographic Id!!

I Think This Is Just A Scare Tactic By Red As I Am Not A Homeowner And Do Not Have Any Real Assetts
If Anyone Has Any Advise As To What I Should Do I.e Just Ignore Them??
Please Let Me Know

    Hi

If you believe this is statute barred, have you sent the Stature barred letter?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • hi,

i have not corresponded with red in any way as i was unsure that if i spoke to them it may be considered as aknowledgement of the debt, also i wasnt sure if the six years was from the last time i made a repayment, or from when hsbc started to try and recover the debt.

as well as this when i took out the bank acvcount and credit card with hsbc i was with my father who knew the bank manager, i did not have the right documentation and identification, but the bank manager allowed me to open the account on the promise that i would return with passport etc, which i did not!! therefore if i spoke to red could this mean that i am accepting that the debt is leagally mine????
