tax on items bought abroad

Ive ordered from disney store usa and am concerned about import tax, duty etc. Does anyone know how they calculate how much you have to pay if anything?

Some basic info on 'internet shopping' on the HMRC site here :-

...... obviously depends on value. But expect to pay Customs Duty / VAT (if over £18 equivalent) and also a handling charge from Parcelforce or whoever d/w the incoming parcel and has to pay the duty to HMRC on your behalf.

There's a list somewhere within HMRC (follow the links) that shows the % of duty / VAT on different items. They appear to have hidden it a bit more deeply since last I looked.
