Can anyone tell me how the 3 for 2 they have on xmas decorations works ? does it automatically do the cheapest free ??

No - if you only buy three items then yes, you'd get the cheapest one free but if you bought 6 items, you wouldn't just get the cheapest two free - it would put them in price order and every third item you'd get free...

It's even better value when you buy 6 or more gifts.

Most 3 for 2s work by giving you the cheapest products free. With ours, you get every third product free, in descending price order. This means that if you buy nine gifts, the ones you get free are the third, sixth and ninth most expensive, not the three cheapest.

When I've bought 3 for 2s online at M&S it has taken a third off the total price of all 3.

you can also ask for a gift receipt for 2 out of the 3 gifts you buy so if 2 are presents and one for yourself . you can get gift recepits for them ans they can still be returned at full price
