Hi everyone,
I have an Ulster Bank visa card and I recently got the Barclay Onepulse card with 0% on balance transfers for 14 months to allow me to transfer my balance.
I have just phoned Barclay Card, activated the card, asked for my balance to be transfered and I was told they cannot transfer the balance from this card from the Ulster Bank
Does anyone know why this is or can anyone give me advice about what I can do next? Has anyone had the same problem or do you know which cards I can transfer my balance to?
Many thanks

As Ulster Bank is not related to Barclays in any way, there should be no reason for the transfer to be rejected.
It would be different matter if you were trying to transfer an Ulster Bank balance to a card issued by another part of the RBS group.
I can only assume some ignorant minion in Barclays thinks that Ulster Bank is an Irish bank in the same way he/she might think an Ulster Bank note isn't sterling.
Ask to speak to someone more senior and the matter should be sorted out.0 -
other option if you have more than one card is to transfer to another card and then on to the Barclays one but your other card may charge you
I'd have expected them not to do it if they were part of the same group as 36square says, although maybe Barclays are refusing to bail out RBS lol!Norn Iron Club Member #64
