Dental Floss

I have (unfortunately for my teeth) only just realised the importance of dental flossing and now I have had some crowns replaced + some new crowns at quite an expense I really need to look after them
However I'm really confused which is best to use - dental floss, wax tape, satin tape.......so much choice just confuses me.
I've tried the dental floss but often this seems to split when I'm using it. The tape does not split but I find this gets stuck, especially between some of my crowns.
Can anyone advise which is best, especially for flossing between crowns.

TePe s are a lot easier to use than floss.
Probably best to get your dentist or hygienist to size you up for them though. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Hi Toothsmith...i dont have any crowns but could you advise me on what is the best dental floss or tape to use, and also how often to use it. I normally use it once a day at the moment, when i brush my teeth before bed.
I also would like to know of any home whitening treatment to use before my wedding.
Thanks.0 -
All these things would be better answered by your dentist who can see your teeth.
Thereare loads of different oral hygiene products, and the best one for you would depend on how your teeth are arranged.
As for whitening, again, ask your dentist. Don't muck about with over the counter ones or internet stuff. How to find a dentist.
