I thought today was the 29th, so I could have been the only one celebrating New Year on Friday evening LOL! Phew!0

I thought Paul came across quite arrogant and was not taking it seriously! It would be interesting to see whether he does follow Martin's advice so he can see his kids more often.0

I find it amazing that these people cant put two and two together and realise what money they are wasting on things.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I find it amazing that they don't seem to twig that they can only sustain their present lifestyle and spending habits for so long before it all comes crashing down around their ears.
Talk about short-termism  .

I didn't feel he came across as arrogant, but I think he is typical of a certain type of men who refuse to grow up and refuse to take responsibilities like his kids- seriously.
And frankly if Mummy is agreeable to lending £20 k of her own money to fund his lifestyle, as Paul's mother did, how can such a man ever learn?0 -
He made me so mad I just wanted to slap him, as Martin said he needed to grow up and quick........I wondered if he had any brains at all, he had a job which brought in £50,000 gave it up and took a job which pays £18000 and he did not adjust his spending or way of life..........and borrowed cash from his Mum as well......I was speechless.....wish we had an update on all the families we have seen to see if they are keeping up with Martins recommendations.......

paul reminded me of my husband, he can blind me with science as far as maths is concerned, but when it comes to putting a £ sign in front of the maths, his whole sense of logic seems to break down.
i have spent years trying to understand why an educated man can't budget what is after all just simple addition, and he just can't get it! (feel some wisecracks coming on here!)
talk about opposites attracting!
anyway, i digress. like most on here, i find it difficult to grasp the logic of these people, but accept it as a fact of life when i see how my intelligent husband struggles with the money in his pocket. i'm sure some medical buff will come up with a syndrome name for it pretty soon, after all, if we all have mseitis, some must have the opposite?!
good luck to you all on make me rich, i hope martin has the same impact on your lives as he had on mine. he changed it and gave me a whole new bunch of virual aquantainces along the way, soon to be friends i hope!

I really wanted to bang his head against the wall - the "I can't afford to see my kids, but I've just bought girlfriend expensive new watch" makes me see red. When Martin told him to grow up and get his priorities in order, I thought WTG, someone needed to tell him.
If he'd really wanted to visit them he'd have gone. He'd have put the cost on a card or borrowed from mummy, just like he undoubtedly did when he wanted to buy clothes or his girlfriend things. I hope the program has done more than just help get his finances ordered, but shown him to be a selfish so and so.
Paul - if you're reading this, I'm sure you are a lovely man and I hope you do get to see your kids more often. They are the most important thing in this. I also hope your girlfriend can cope with your change in lifestyle too.0
