What's the date got to do with anything - they're in a tin.

Damn, I would have bought some if I had known. Ended up buying smart price beans and sausages as they were cheaper than smart price beans!

Because the SHOP won't sell anything over the date on the tin. Whether we'd it eat is a different matter. Just trying to work out why they were reduced and if they were only in the OP's shop. Don't be so rude, I'm entitled to ask the question!
  • It was reduced a few weeks back at my store to 10p, displayed at e front of the store. Wasnt there anymore when I went back ystd and e sel was not reduced so I didnt bother trying. It may be one of the periodic offers they have as w their 50p palmolive and imperial leather/john west tuna that are on for a few days and taken off, but they didnt change the till back at e OP store.

Always worth a try though if you're in, but wouldnt make a special trip down juz for it.

Yup, its the one with the red label
  • my store had pickled onions and beetroot reduced to 10p a few weeks back so I got some all good dates until easter, (they'd be eaten by xmas) I keep checking in case it happens again. Last week it was priced up 10p but they were out of stock.
  • Ooh, great. Thanks. I just went hunting for bent tins on the whoops shelf the other day and got Branston for 26p (never tried them before) and an own brand tin for 19p. I just stock up when it's cheap as then it's another thing less to worry about and if I have a week where I am really skint, I can at least get by on my beans!!
  • in date and yes the asdas own brand red/orange ish and white tin, no limit on how many you can have either!!

  • Are the Asda beans nice. I always buy Sainsburys basic but was shocked to find this week that they had gone up to 29p same as the tinned tomatoes. Asda is opposite Sainsburys so willing to go there, if the beans are recommended. Thanks.
