donate air miles to charity?

Does anyone know how I can donate air miles to a legitimate and worthy charity before they expire? Or find any other use for them?

I think the bigger charities may be interested, not sure about smaller ones but I will ask someone I know who works for a small European one if he's interested and pm you with some details if he is.

I'm sure I've seen that one of the mega big national charities can use them but can't think who. The small one I work for never goes anywhere by plane.

I have just phoned Airmiles. (It's an 0844 number so use 0192586000 if you use TalkTalk and get Landline calls free). I was told that Airmiles have no arrangements for any Charity to receive or have transfered Airmiles from us.
So my 61 Airmiles will benefit Airmiles only at the end of March. As far as I see is about how far 61 Airmiles will take me.

I have no connection with them other than finding their page - and this one - when Googling about donating air miles.

Donating air miles seems common in North America, but not in the UK.
