Query About Loans?

A few months back we applied for a loan through egg. We got accepted and completed the agreement signed and returned it.

Few days later got the letter back saying we got declined :mad:

So we applied for another through Alliance and Leicester, again got accepted but I made sure to ask the advisor "Have we definatly been accepted?" "Yes" she replied.

So again out came the agreement, we signed it and sent it back. A few days later out came the letters saying we had been declined again despite me being told we had definatly been accepted.

Why do loan companies do this?

Have you got a copy of your credit files?
There is obviously something on there spooking these companies if it has happened more than once.
Try a written complaint to one of them asking why they tell you have been accepted at one stage of the application only to be refused later.

Surely the credit search would be done immediately though.

Which makes me think that there is something else on their file such as perhaps a CIFAS listing if not on the applicant then the address.
