Virgin Media Broadband - £9 off

This is my first post to Money Saving Expert so I thought I would share this little loophole for those with Virgin Media.
I am currently on Virgin's XL Broadband package which costs £37 a month. I decided that this was too much and gave them a call to terminate the service. My aim was to haggle the price down for a couple of months or at least get a month for free. After threats and comparing Virgin to other providers I just asked the question, "Can you reduce the monthly price that I pay without changing the Broadband package?". I was stunned when he simply said, "Sure, I can reduce it by £8 a month and you can save an additional £1 by signing up not to receive any more paper bills". Result.
