weekly spends challange ~ w/c 9th november 2008

Good morning everyone  . This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

This challenge basically runs along side the daily spends thread where you post what you have spent daily. However you dont have to be in both to be involved in one. On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (sunday ~ friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isnt needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Good luck all :j

After last weeks very many ridiculously scary purchases which topped £400 thanks to a power cut (petrol lantern), replacement of 2 car tyres, taking OH food shopping and a bunker full of coal I can't afford another week like that this month or next. I'm aiming for a much more sensible £150 which will include £20 for the DDs riding lessons as well as my food shop although a store cupboard challenge is imminent.

  • Hiya Pap.... I came in at £2.10 this week for all non-essentials :)

I'm in for £20 this week please... got no plans to get anything, but I'm off work this weeek with OH, so even that probably won't be enough!

NSD yesterday but today is a different story its not quite lunchtime but so far:

    £68 coal
    £17.80 chicken feed
    £58.75 grocery shopping
    £2.50 school
£5 birthday present and a miserly 10p for the card (but since I had to by 10 cards for £1 thats actually £1 in cards)
    £9.30 to send a parcel

Guess I've well and truly blown my budget already and I'm not even half way through the week.

  • I've not seen a new thread for this week I had a search but couldn't find it.

So I spent over budget this week aim was £10 but I am sure it is closer to £20 but on the whole that is not too bad. Need to keep it up for one more week as it is payday soon.

Can you put me down for £17 this week as that is what is in my purse and I WILL make it last until Friday. Good luck everyone :money:

  • urghh. Well I suppose I had better report back - last week was hideous. I think it was about 71 pounds . Oh dear better had be turned red :( . This was partly down to laziness and partly bad circumstances. Oh well.

I have absolutely no idea what I shall spend this week at all so don't fancy entering. - I might be going clothes shopping and stocking up for my new job so could be quite a lot.
