Good value for money but the original price is mythical and always sold at 80-90% off. You can buy them at this price from loadsa stores. I bought a big gun 140 from sports world for £9. The market it saturated with these false 'baragins'. Just type "browning squash racket" on ebay and see a list of cheap rackets with no bids.Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j
Mortgages make money. Definitely don't wanabee mortgage free!0 -
Unfortunately the price of the Carlton ones is not mythical - my husband is a county level badminton player (albeit in the vets) and the only way he can get rackets to last anymore than about 3 hits is to pay good money for them! Not unusual to pay £80 - £90 for a racket!! I shall be pointing him in the direction of these Carlton - ones thank you OP.
He has tried cheaper ones - they last about one game (and I mean game - not match!!)What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Yes, I agree. My last racket was a Wilson one from JJB at £20, but supposed to be something stupid like £80
I play every week, although not professional in any way. This racket has lasted me a year already.
The one before that cost £10 from Sports World (Dunlop) - only bought a new one as it was lighter, but it is still going strong.
Love squash - great exercise without realising - still cant believe you can get so hot from running round a square-ish room!0 -
So is Browning a good squash racket make?0

It's my belief that, unlike the more solidly built tennis racquets (which I also own a few), you can learn bad habits with badly made badminton racquets very quickly. This is more so for kids, young adults who are trying to learn how to play. Of course, for a messing about while you have a bbq at your garden, you don't need an expensive racquet!!!
Since badminton is such a high-impact but power sensitive game, I would recommend a more reliable brand like Yonex - if you are serious about the game. Also, don't just buy it from a random source, ie ebay without finding out more about their source as there are SOOOOO many fake ones, esp from Asia. Go to your local racquet shop, check out which one feels good in hand before you buy. Sweatband is one reliable online shop that I know of.
The avg price of my badminton racquets is around £80. Professional ones are custom-made by the manufacturers....so doubt shops would sell exact same as what Emms would use.0 -
I bought my Carlton Superlite from Racquetworld some time ago....looks genuine to me. Was a great price imo. Fast delivery, fast replies to Qs, top service.A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Sports direct are selling the following kits :-
£5.99, 2x Carlton Badminton Rackets, 4x Shuttle Cocks and Carry Case
£12.99, 4x Carltong Badminton Rackets, Shuttle Cocks, net and Carry Case
I bought the 2 person kit yesterday, nothing to write home about but good enough for the occasional game with my housemate.
