Can I also add Shinybaby, in my experience there is no such thing as an honest recruitment agency- my hubby was told he had been unsuccessful for a job and theydidnt even put his cv in!! I think you should speak to the svp directly and like a few posters have said, find out why:)You are right, i may contact the recruitment agency involved. The only feedback i got was that i may have come across as nervous - like i said, i certainly wasn't. I have been manager of a charity shop before and had managerial experience in two other stores. The lady from the recruitment agency seemed pretty confident and when she rang me back to tell me i was unsuccessful, she seemed suprised. She kept asking me if i had been nervous and said she had no other idea why i hadn't got the job. I guess with charity experience behind me we were both pretty confident.
Thanks for the comments. I think i will just put this down to experience and move on.0 -
Hi. Just to let you know, i have written to the charity asking for more feedback. I will let you all know when i hear back from them.0

I'm not sure why wearing a poppy would make a difference. Wearing of a poppy, especially in the month of November, is to remember the fallen men and women and children. People that have ever had to experience the tradegies of war. Every country and religion has experienced war at some point. I must admit it's the one time in the year that everyone is totally equal and doing the same. Remembering.0

I would agree with what you are saying TotallyBroke but many of the little minds of a lot of people in Northern Ireland will politicise anything they don't believe or agree with. Our beloved assembly have even managed to politicise education, planning and even environmetal issues... Don't ask me how.. It's like "well just say the opposite to what your saying as we wouldn't like to be seen to agree with you"...
Anyway distracting from the point in hand.. I would agree with the comment on Recruitment Agancies too.. you never know how many candidates they put in for a job.. back to the old adage, if you throw enough !!!!!!, something will stick... they don't care who gets the job as long as he/she came from their agancy and they get the commision.. they aren't in it for you... it's all about the money...
In the past when I've been applying for jobs, I look at what is available in the agancies. try to pick out some clues of who it might be and then phone around the potential companies asking if they are recruiting and apply directly.. Remember the agancies work on a comission so if the employer can get you directly without having to pay the agancy.. they'll jump at he chance.Live, Love & Laugh A Lot!0
