Having a christmas top made?!

Options
hi

I posted in the christmas forum orginally, but don't think that's right, so here I am .. apologies if you shouldn't double post :o

I'm a "plus size" lady, and want a top for my works Christmas do - I've got a very clear idea in my mind what I want, and can't find it anywhere... my question is, how feasible would it be to have one made based on the cut of an existing top I have? ie: could I buy some sequin material, take it to a dressmaker with my top I know I like and suits me, and get one made?! or would that be silly money anyway?! I know nothing about dressmaking, so would appreciate any advice...

thank you!
