- When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

I cancelled my life policy (following yesterday's agreement by the mortgage broker that I can cancel the 4 yr requirement to have this policy which I feel they duped me into to avoid paying them a fee when I renegotiated my mortgage) saving £25 a month;
Washing at 30 degrees;
Packaging up the clothes that got me £48 on Ebay (It was originally in a bag I was going to take to the charity shop) and will now be paying for some Xmas pressies;
Will be 'buying' an ipod docking station today with the £30 HMV vouchers from Pigsback - but will have to top it up with £10 of my own money - pah!
Edit - must add that I used my £5 Morrisons voucher for my groceries and also picked up a Shell Drivers Club reward card which gives me 50 airmiles just for registering it!! (Now got 710 airmiles and a little away from a free flight to London)Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
