Coupons - Apart from Tesco who else takes them?

It seems that a few posters here have run into problems when it comes to handing in coupons at Tesco. Asda may be following their lead as one person has not been able to redeem their coupons there.
So, I say let's post on this thread to let each other know where coupons will be accepted and the store's/company's policy. I've even seen it mentioned that one poor woman was frog marched into the manager's office and told to hand in her clubcard for giving over coupons. Subsequently she was banned from that store, and I see there are others on this site who have been banned from their stores too.
It's about time Tesco stood up and took notice of what their customer wants, and that the way their policy differs not just from store to store, but from till to till, is in my opinion, laughable.
You are the consumer, do not feel intimidated by power hungry supervisors or managers of these stores. Let's stand up and be counted. If we stand together and take our custom elsewhere they will have to take stock (excuse the pun!) of the situation and have a thorough review of the way they do business.
So, please if you know of other stores that do take coupons please put it in this thread. Let us support each other and stand together.

A lady was banned from using coupons?
Sorry am I missing something here, or were they counterfeit coupons or something?0 -
I can't find the thread it was on. She was using ordinary coupons, not counterfeit. If I remember correctly this supervisor had a go at her on her previous visit when she handed over coupons. I think she tried the self scan tills that time. Supervisor said she could only use x amount of coupons. On the second visit she went to a manned till, where the same supervisor saw her handing over coupons and promptly marched her to the manager's office.
Whew, I hope I got all that right. I'm going by memory.0 -

hi there
Good memory! It was me who was banned (and still is) . Here is the thread if you want to have a read (thread is now closed) - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=78328&page=1&pp=100 -
Thank you Igloo! I did try a search earlier but it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I forgot the name of the author! At the time I was reading your story and I really felt for you. That could happen to any one of us and I felt they treated you unfairly. I didn't comment at the time as I was relatively new to the site, but now I've found my feet!!
I see you are still banned but did you get in touch with Head Office? Which store do you use instead and is it cheaper?

Waitrose usually accept vouchers as long as they stock the item.

I've never had any problems at asda or tesco - a couple of weeks ago i used loads of duplicate vouchers at asda too- i hadn't had chance to sort through them before i went so i just gave the girl a handful of vouchers from my bag and asked her to put through what she could - it included about 6 lots of the same £1 voucher for kronenbourg blanc (which i hadn't bought), and she just put them all through! Normally, I stick to one of each coupon unles I've bought the product - then I use 2 - and i've never had a problem.

Waitrose are usually fantastic at accepting any number of coupons as long as a) they stock the item in THAT store b) they are original coupons not printouts and c) they are within date. However, recently I was informed (nicely) by the manager of my local waitrose that they were having problems at head office redeeming the newspaper and magazine coupons with the publishers so they were now only accepting those coupons if you actually buy the product. All grocery coupons were still accepted though. This kind of put paid to my nice little "Times" earner with all those Esquire coupons!! Hi ho though, saved me around £300 in the last few months so I'm not complaining too much0

I'm not suprised they were having problems getting them redeemed. They were so good £2.90 each time - Esquire must have noticed the up lift in their usage. There is no need to run outside

Kronenbourg Blanc is a fantastic drink. Expensive, but I recommend to all Lager drinkers.

heh yeah. Especially as this store only has like 3 copies of Esquire and they were taking like £50 worth of Times tokens from me every shop - First Class on the train used to hand out free copies of the Times so everyone would leave them lying around after they'd read them and work were paying for me to go to a course First Class for 6 weeks - w00t!
I don't blame them really but I was happy to "comply" with their policy until they decided to change it0
