cant pay mortgage

hi to all. Looks likely husband will have no work, no income, until prob end january. Before i contact bank re mortgage, is there anything i should know. Should i ask to go interest only temporarily or ask if missed payments can be added to mortgage. Would we then be able to revert to current mortgage deal or would we lose this rate. Hoping someone can give me advice so i can begin to deal with what i need to do.

Can you check if you can take payment holidays with your mortgage. Then when you speak to them you maybe able to have the next couple of months as a payment holiday. As someone that found myself in mortgage trouble I strongly recommend you talking to them asap. I didn't and things spiralled out of control for me.
Good luck someone who is a lot cleverer than me will be along to help you.

    Who is your mortgage lender?
  • Hi there,
I just contected LLoyds TSB about my mortgage as my financial circumstances have changed due to family illness.
They let me take a 6 month pament holiday , the interest will be added on at end of the term. They were very understanding and I wished Id contacted them earlier!
This has given me breathing space to sort out my other outgoings and is a big relief.
Goodluck in tackling your situ and I hope you receive helpful advice ,as I did.
