I got this today after being told I had been accepted last month

"Many thanks for the interest you have shown in applying to join Tesco Home Panels. Unfortunately your Clubcard profile does not fit the criteria set on the panellist selection system and on this occasion your application will not be taken further.
We appreciate this may be frustrating but we hope you can understand that it is important for us to test products with the right type of user in order to get the most useful feedback. If you would like to be re-considered to join the panel in March when we are next recruiting, please email us with your full name. By this time your shopping habits might have changed and this will be reflected on your Clubcard profile."


anyone else got this? And any idea why? I shop at Tesco online every week for groceries and have bought appliances from them as well. I have only had a clubcard for a little while - could that be it?

Glad to hear I'm not the only person who's been turned down, I've emailed them to ask what the criteria are, as I buy food and non-food items and I'd like to know if it's worth me even bothering re-applying for March.

I don't have kids or pets and live on my own. I very rarely buy petrol from Tesco (there are no Tesco stores near me that have petrol stations so I have to drive to Dudley which is about 25 miles away) but I do get the odd DVD or pack of loo rolls which are classed as non-food.

why don;t you e mail them, and ask quite innocently:D if you have correctly filled in all your test surveys etc, as you have done all that and heard nothing!!
i'm sure they'll let you know, or it will give them a gentle reminder;)

I got a reply saying that I had not been selected, and I've had a card for 5 years, so it is nothing to do with the duration in which you have been a member. Rather like surveys, they have a group of categories, and the questions that they ask help lump you into that category, then I'd guess that it is just luck of the draw whether you get selected or not.

MIL been rejected too but she spends well over £100 a week in Tesco's about half of that on non-food - magazines, laudry products, nappies (for my LO), flowers, allsorts really so don't understand it????

I have tried twice to join tesco home panels as it sounds great, I have made an effort to do all of my shopping on line with tescos and have bought some large appliances (£500 worth) with tesco direct. Have just been turned down again. This added to the problems using voucher codes means I will be doing my shopping elsewhere from now on.

how long does the whole process take, from being emailled to say you have been accepted to finding out what we are testing??

It all depends, sometimes I have waited months and other times you get 3 in one go, my last trial was 2 months ago.
