Quick question...

Hi guys,

just a quick one. i had an overdraft with barclays that i paid off about a year ago after defaulting on it. i just got a copy of my credit report and the default shows-which i understand because they stay on for 6 years don't they? the only thing i'm worried about is that an outstanding balance of £66 is showing, whereas on other debts i have paid off it shows as settled. i have letters from both barclays and the company they passed the debt onto that show that i fully paid back and the account was then closed. what should i do? will i be able to make them show it as settled?

oh and other thing is that one of the companies on my dmp don't show on the report at all, is that usual? the dmp money def goes to them as i get reviews off them every so often and they're quite happy with it.

okay maybe not so quick, but any help would be appreciated.

  • Get in touch with your bank and ask them to correct the file to show cleared as of the date of the letter, it may also be worth letting the credit reference agency know as they have a duty to have correct info for you

pass on the second one although I know that different companies use different credit reports
